RT core collection

01/03/2013

real techniques core collection kit - £20.99*

forget about forking out ridiculous prices for MAC brushes, real techniques brushes are all you ever going to need to apply your make up flawlessly. in the core collection you receive a contour brush, pointed foundation brush, detailer brush and (my personal favourite) a buffing brush (all with cruelty free taklon bristles) and one panoramic case. this means each brush is costing you approximately £5, what an absolute steal right? although i think it's a great touch to be given a complimentary case rather than just throwing them into some packaging. i don't know what use i will get from it as i already have a bag for my brushes. even so, i suppose it could be useful when travelling or after i've cleaned my brushes so they are able to dry effectively. the brush that makes everyone buy the collection purely for itself due to not being sold separately is the buffing brush. i can honestly agree that it's completely worth the hype, it applies my foundation evenly and leaving it look flawless with no effort. the same goes with my contour brush, i couldn't go without it in my make up routine. used with a bronzer it helps give my face definition and show off my cheekbones. even though these two are my favourite i do get use out of all four brushes in this kit, even if i don't use them for what it says they are designed for. for instance i prefer to use the pointed foundation brush to blend my concealer as i think it's easier to get into the little crevices such as around the curves of my nose or the corners of my eye. it's the same with the detailer brush as i've read reviews that bloggers enjoy using it for applying concealer but i prefer using it when applying a lip colour.

please don't think i'm just hyping this brand because i've been sent to review them, because that is not the case at all. since owning the core collection, i've now invested in more real technique brushes. if you saw my previous haul post (here) i was able to get the individual brushes for a fraction of the price than they are currently retailing for in the UK, so if you're interested check it out! what's next for me? to buy the real techniques starter kit for eyes. i'm still currently hanging on to my trusty sigma brushes as they do the job but i think it's necessary that they get replaced soon plus i have a weird need to just buy the entire collection so everything matches.
